My Thoughts:
Although I’m not the biggest thriller reader I loved the Naturals Series. It has so many tropes that make a great book. Like found family and although I’m not always a big fan of the love triangles Jennifer Lynn Barnes is a real pro. If she writes a love triangle it’s going to be good! There was romance but it was a sub-plot, the whole book and the sequels revolve around solving mysteries that keep you on your toes.
Like I said Jennifer Lynn Barnes is an incredible author who writes not only angsty love triangles but also mind blowing plot twists. Seriously you never see them coming. Normally I’m pretty good at making guesses as to who it is but with Barnes’s books, both the Naturals and The Inheritance Games, I am at a lost. You also get the serial killers POV but its 2nd person which is very interesting. I think it keeps the suspense and thrill going.
Although all the books are told in Cassie’s perceptive the other characters are still heavily involved in the story since they work together. And they just are all so adorable, their friendship means so much to me. Throughout the series you get more background information and backstories of each of the characters.
The plot never gets boring, you can finish the whole book in one sitting. Like I did because i was just so invested. And it’s very fast paced, like all of her books Jennifer Lynn Barnes makes all the chapters fairly short. So I really recommend this series if you’re new to reading or are in a reading slump. <3
